From Vietnam to the Philippines, passing through Cambodia and Indonesia, many small paradises that are just waiting for you!
1-Secret Lagoon beach
El nido, Filippine
Of course, the crystal clear sea. Of course, the white and very fine beach. But what really makes the difference in El Nido, the ‘last frontier’ and one of the most enchanting places in all the Philippines is the view of the limestone rocks off the coast, the marble cliffs, waterfalls and prehistoric quarries. And yet, over 50 species of corals, whales and dolphins can be seen underwater. An ideal destination for lovers of unspoiled nature, the Secret Lagoon Beach, reachable with one of the tours that depart from El Nido, on the Philippine island of Palawan, is set among very high rocks that will make you feel like a dot in the universe. A really lucky dot. Secret Lagoon is a small pool of water hidden within one of the most amazing and probably my favorite beaches in El Nido, Palawan. Perfect place to relax.
Phi Phi island, Thailand
On the island of Koh Phi Phi Leh, in the famous Phi Phi archipelago of Thailand, the Maya bay is dominated by green rocks that emerge from a crystalline sea. After the film The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio, if possible, the fame of the beach has grown exponentially. This little paradise, reachable by boat from the island of Ko Phi Phi Don, offers an enchanting view of the white sand lapped by emerald green waters. An advice? Wake up early and reach it before the tourists flock to it. In the Phi Phi Islands it is possible to find numerous small beaches, some visible only when there is low tide. This corner is impressive due to the imposing nature that surrounds it, with cliffs over a hundred meters high and tropical vegetation. It is a place where both sunrise and sunset can be seen, an unforgettable experience.
Considered the ‘little sister’ of White Beach and also called Puka Beach due to the shells that litter its shoreline, this beach in the northern part of Boracay, in the Philippines, is actually considered by many to be the most beautiful of the whole island. thanks to its white sand and crystal clear sea. The famous island of Boracay has been awarded the best island in the world by Travel + Leisure. With its powdery white sand, picturesque sunsets, countless recreational activities, and fascinating nightlife, it’s no surprise why sun worshipers from around the world flock to this small island year after year. Along the northern shores of Boracay is the pristine 800-meter Yapak Beach, more popularly known as Puka Beach for its plethora of white sand coupled with puka shells, a shell similar to a natural pearl.
Palm trees, a long stretch of immaculate sand, free sunbeds: Eden is on this Cambodian beach! Wild enough and far from the hustle and bustle, Otres Beach is a still unspoiled paradise where rocks, silence and a beach as far as the eye can see that invites even the laziest to a morning jog. The fishermen’s huts make the atmosphere even more characteristic: if you are visiting Sihanoukville, have no doubts, relaxation is at home here and the water is so hot that you will feel like you are in the tub of your home, only topped by a magnificent cobalt-colored sky. Several luxury hotels and casinos are being built, thanks to various funding from Chinese companies, taking away the freak and authentic atmosphere of this town. The Phsar Leur market, is located in the center of Sihanoukville and there are several stalls of fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, clothes and household items. The symbol of the town is the Two Golden Lions, two large golden lions erected in the middle at a road roundabout.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam
Usually less well known than Thailand, Vietnam actually has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. One of these is undoubtedly Sao Beach, on the island of Phu Quoc. Still little known and off the beaten track of mass tourism, the island is an unexplored tropical paradise made of dense vegetation, plantations as far as the eye can see and fishing villages: arriving is not the easiest undertaking in the world, but with a taxi or aboard a motorcycle once you reach your destination, the panorama pays off for the trip. No bar or sunbed, no music or street vendors, but only the incredible view of the sea that is lost in the horizon. Soft white sand with a snowy texture, turquoise sea and a beach lined with swaying palm trees. There are many restaurants on the beach, businesses that also rent a canoe or jet-ski, and excursions can also be organized from here. Be sure to discover some of the underwater marine life as this is a favorite destination for snorkelers.
6-Nai Harn beach
Half an hour by scooter from Patong is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket, Thailand. In the south of the island, away from the main and more chaotic destinations, at the foot of the mountains that surround the coast, there is Nai Harn, a beach of a thousand colors and few noises. Nai Harn is a wonderful white beach with smooth sand, hidden among green hills and islets south of Phuket. Quieter than the west coast tourist spots, Nai Harn has enough restaurants, hotels and shops for a great stay and still retains its original atmosphere. The sheltered bay offers excellent anchorage for sailboats and luxury yachts and has always been popular with foreigners and locals alike. The beach is very large, with its fine, soft sand and perfect water; blue and crystalline. That is, during the high season, forget you can swim anywhere in Phuket during the low season.
In the southern part of Sri Lanka, a small town called Hikkaduwa is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Southeast Asia. Not too big and much cleaner than the average of the beaches in the area, the Hikkaduwa is animated by small bars near the shoreline and by snorkelers, who come here from all over the world thanks to the coral reef and the seabed populated by fish of all kinds. species, including turtles and lionfish. Hikkaduwa is a small coastal town located about 100km south of Colombo. The best time of year to visit Hikkaduwa beach is between November and March for the warm summer rays and good surfing. Even though this is the peak season for tourists, the prices for accommodation and food are very reasonable.
