Before you even book a flight, it’s best to do some research and make sure you know what you’re dealing with. Here are some important things to know before traveling to Zanzibar.
Do You Need A Visa When Traveling To Zanzibar?
If you’re going to Zanzibar/Tanzania as a tourist, you may need a visa. The only exception is if you’re a citizen of the following countries:
|Malaysia||Saint Kitts and Nevis||Trinidad and Tobago|
|Mauritius||Saint Vincent and the Grenadines||Uganda|
|Nauru||Solomon Islands||*British Overseas Territories citizens|
|Papua New Guinea||South Africa||*Guernsey & Jersey passport holders|
All visitors are required to have a valid passport for the duration of their stay. Travelers may obtain visas at Zanzibar International Airport. Other points in Tanzania that currently offer visa upon entry are Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airports. It is advisable to check with your nearest Tanzanian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate prior to traveling.
