Villa Porto Felice is a luxury property for rent located in Lake Como. Villa Porto Felice sets on one of the most sought after locations on the banks of Tremezzina.
The combination of the candy-colored walls, the classical and elegant style of the exterior with the modern design inside makes it a great setting where to spend an amazing vacation in Italy. This villa was built at the turn of the last century in 1901 by an American Admiral, it was totally rebuilt in 2005 and completely renovated in 2019. It is a four-story home surrounded by cypress trees and a manicured garden. Known as “the gallery of design” on the lake at Villa Porto Felice you can admire American and Italian artworks from 1950′ to 2000. The masterpieces are from Lloyd Wright, Philip Johnson, and Van der Rohe to mention a few. Artworks include important sculptures by Bijan Bassirsth, the most important Iranian artists and leading artist at the Venice Biennale.
This villa features a large indoor heated swimming pool making it an ideal property also for a winter season vacation.
The quietness of the site is so unique being at just ten minutes’ walk from the shopping center of Bellagio. Mainly for these reasons Marquis Eugenio Besana decided in 1891 to build here this innovative, at that time, Villa. In 1920 Cav. Ing. Luigi Orlando belonging to one of the most important Italian entrepeneur dynasties bought the house. Since then the Villa has always been in the property of the Orlando Family and used as a private residence.
This outstanding 19th-century villa is set on five acres of private gardens with a swimming pool, a tennis court, superb lake views and, on request, a private mooring (at additional cost) at the San Siro harbor. The villa faces southeast, halfway up the lake, providing a superb view of the three arms of Lake Como and the beautiful mountains across the lake. The large garden has well-kept lawns, ancient sequoias, cedars, oaks, magnolias, and palms. A road runs right along the shore of Lake Como in this area, so the villa is not directly on the lake but is directly across the road from the lake and across is the private landing. A gate and sweeping lawns lead from the lake road up to the villa.
